Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 30, 2026
1. The short version
SourceWatch uses a small number of cookies. The ones that keep you signed in are essential. Analytics cookies load only if you accept them on our cookie banner. Importantly, the AI-traffic tracking SourceWatch performs on customer sites is cookieless — it sets no cookies and stores only a truncated, irreversible hash of a visitor’s IP.
2. Cookies we use
- Essential — session. Set by our authentication provider to keep you logged into the app. The site cannot function without these, so they are exempt from consent.
- Essential — consent choice. A cookie (“radar_consent”) that remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, so we don’t ask every visit.
- Analytics (optional, consent-based). If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies (e.g. “_ga”, “_gid”) to measure aggregate, anonymized site usage with IP anonymization enabled. These never load unless you click “Accept.”
3. What we do NOT do
- No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- No cookies or device fingerprinting in our on-site AI-traffic capture layer.
- No selling of personal information.
4. Managing your choices
You can accept or reject analytics cookies on the banner shown on your first visit. To change your choice, clear your browser cookies for this site (which removes the saved consent and re-shows the banner), or use your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Most browsers also offer a “Do Not Track” signal, which we honor for non-essential analytics.
5. Changes & contact
We may update this policy as our cookie use changes; the “last updated” date will reflect any revision. See our Privacy Policy for the bigger picture, or reach us through our contact form.
